Fraud Protection
- Subscriber must provide a 4-digit PIN number, which will be programmed into your
account providing you access when using your card, and for protection from fraud.
4-digit PIN number must fit within the following guidelines:
- 4 digits
- cannot be the last four digits of your telephone number
- cannot begin with the number "0"
- cannot be consecutive digits (i.e. 4321 or 1234)
- cannot be recurring digits (i.e. 1111)
To prevent fraud, PIN#'s will not be printed on direct bill calling cards. Do not
share your PIN # with anyone. If you have a pre-paid card, your PIN# is included in your card number
and extra care should be exercised to protect your card.
Multiple direct billing cards are available, but only the subscribers name can be placed on
each card.
Multiple direct bill cards can have the same PIN#, however, restricted Call
Home calling cards require a different PIN#.
- Subscribers will also be asked for a password to allow and validate future changes to
your card and any other services (i.e. to obtain PIN# or to change PIN#).
- Fraud Protection Limits for calls - Maximum calls allowed on your calling card will be 20 completed calls
or $100 within a 24-hour period for domestic calls, or 10 completed calls within a 24-hour period for international
calls. Calls are based on completed calls, not attempts in which the call does not go through or a busy signal
is experienced. Calling cards exceeding this maximum will be disabled for your protection. If you intend to
use your calling card more frequently, please notify our business office to increase your fraud protection limit.
- Lost or stolen cards: If your card is lost or stolen, please call the PSTC business office immediately.
- Fraudulent Billing Can Lead To Prosecution:
It is illegal for any person to charge any calls to another's telephone number or calling card without permission. Persons
placing such calls to avoid payments are subject to prosecution, and if convicted, are subject to imprisonment and/or a fine.
Note: All requests are made solely to protect the PST subscriber from fraud. All
subscribers will be held responsible for any and all charges which result from use of your calling card.

Tips for Using Your Calling Card
- In case of emergency or other need, local calls can be made using your long distance calling card, however, you
will be billed the long distance calling rate and any charges applicable.
- To avoid the need for operator assistance when making international calls, customers are encouraged to look up
international calling codes, and be able to dial the complete number. See the preliminary pages of your local
telephone book on “How to Dial Most International Calls.” This section of your phone book should provide most
International Access, Country, and Routing Codes necessary to complete your international call. You will need the
local telephone number for the person(s) you're contacting internationally.
- While your calling card will work from outside the United States, some countries will not accept the toll free number
established, and another toll free number must be used to call back into the United States. If you are planning a trip
outside the country, you will need to call the PST business office to obtain the toll free access number based on the country
you intend to use your card from. Pre-paid cards: International pre-paid calls must originate from within the
U.S., therefore, calls cannot be made from outside the U.S.
- Call Home cards only allow calls to the subscriber's home phone number.
- For Pre-paid cards, card balance is stated before each call is connected.
- For Pre-pad cards, contact the PSTC business office to add more minutes to your card.
