A LATA is a geographic calling area.

Below is a map of the LATA's for the State of Georgia. 

Butler, Colloden, Lizella, Reynolds, and Roberta are in the Macon LATA. 
Geneva and Talbotton are in the Atlanta LATA.

Public Service Telephone (PSTC) will continue to provide service for local telephone calls; however, each customer must select a carrier to provide service for long distance calls.  You do not have to select  the same carrier to handle calls within your geographic calling area that you select to handle calls outside your geographic calling area.

PSTC does not recommend which long distance carrier a customer should choose.  Questions regarding a particular carrier may be answered by calling their toll-free telephone number.  The following carriers provide service to PSTC customers (as these carriers change frequently, the list may not reflect the most current options available):
